I just came upon a hideous article on the NYTimes blog (YA writer, Alan Zadoff, I might never forgive you for bringing this to my attention) that says that although 30 minutes a day of exercise is helpful, sitting for more than 4 hours a day puts you at risk for Many Terrible Problems, not the least of which is a shortened life span. Sitting in front of a TV, sitting in front of a word processor – doesn’t matter…. This suggests that spending 12 hours in a row on a couch revising might be as bad for the writer (which would be me) as for the manuscript.

Shakes fist at Alan Zadoff and the NYTimes.

Read this and weep: hideous NYT article
